By submitting a story to backintheday.co.nz you acknowledge that you are putting it into the public domain for the primary purposes of entertaining and educating the public, as well as preserving a piece of New Zealand’s precious heritage for future generations to enjoy.
You confirm that you are happy for your story to be displayed on the backintheday.co.nz website and to be promoted on Back In The Day Limited’s social media accounts, including Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.
You accept that Back In The Day Limited may choose to edit your tale in regards to tone, format, and/or content, or may add to or amend your tale following our own independent research.
You acknowledge that although the exact content and wording of your tale as it is displayed on the backintheday.co.nz website is protected by our own website’s copyright, we cannot prevent the sharing or use of your story’s main theme, idea, or subject matter, by third parties.
You confirm that, to the best of your knowledge, any image that you upload in support of your story is free from copyright restrictions that would prevent it from being displayed on the backintheday.co.nz website. Old images to support your story can often be found on the National Library website, with many of these images able to be freely displayed on a website or blog.
You accept that other members of the public will be able to comment on your story and that these comments will be visible to other website users.
When submitting your story you acknowledge that your name, as the contributing author, will be displayed alongside the story and will be visible to the general public.
You can request edits or updates to your story, or ask your story be removed from the backintheday.co.nz website at any time, by emailing me at [email protected].
The final decision to post a story on the backintheday.co.nz website or not sits with Back In The Day Limited.
